Major: Character Rig Test
Character Rig Test from Rhia Crouch on Vimeo.
This is a test for the rig that I am using for both of my characters in my animation. Both the characters have the same rig so I only did the test on one of them.

As discussed - some references for the next stage of your production design/art direction:
ReplyDeleteSo - using 'wipe cuts' to transition between scenes - so, in your instance, using the rotations of characters and other elements to wipe one scene 'off' the screen and another one 'onto' the screen - very useful when you're seeking to change the position of your characters between different set-ups.

Also - we talked about your cyclorama (the curved wall running around your circular stage) and you might use it creatively to add further charm and interest to your various scenes...

We talked about the idea of projecting moving elements - clouds, stars, sunrays etc - onto the cyclorama to create some lovely old school effects, as in...

And in terms of think about those 'lollipop' elements that spring up to illustrate the different vignettes... I thought about you looking at the idea of laser-cutting to create much more refined and 'see-through' versions, as in..

I think if you do this, you'll create some nice shadows and a nice 'lightness' to your scenes too.
The other thing we talked about was thinking about rotation - so as a visual approach, always ensure that everything is always moving in graceful circles - so for example, as the lollipops come up and rotate around your characters in a large circle, the lollipops themselves are themselves turning in slow circles too... I think these kinds of approaches will make for a lovely dynamic scene.
